Kanye West’s Long-Lost TV Show Resurfaces
An unaired pilot episode of Kanye “Ye” West’s television show, “A Little Inappropriate” has been leaked online and fans are unsurprised it didn’t make the cut.
The 28-minute clip was shared on video-sharing platform Vimeo but was quickly privatised before it was picked up by another eagle-eyed account and posted to Youtube on Sunday, 18 June.
The “Donda” rapper reportedly pitched the series to HBO back in 2007, as a hybrid between two popular shows at the time: “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Entourage”. The cast was originally believed to include designer Don C, rapper GLC, Jeff Garlin, and comedians like JB Smoove and Wyatt Cenac.
“Kanye knew he wasn’t a good improviser. He’d read something that Seinfeld said about surrounding himself with better talent and that he would rise to the occasion. And so that was his hope,” Cenac told an international publication in 2013.
Throughout the pilot, Ye and his posse travel between record label signings and obligations to the Make-A-Wish foundation and of course, nothing goes as expected.
The reactions to the clip are mixed, with some believing it could have worked, while others were much more critical. “Man, I was hoping this was good but two minutes in and I see why it never got picked up lol [sic],” commented user Dustin Nelson.
